Jim needs your help to improve broadband in South East Cambridgeshire

For many years, Jim has been actively campaigning to improve broadband services in South East Cambridgeshire and rural communities.  Private companies have not recognised the demand for fast, reliable broadband in parts of the constituency and this has meant that much needed investment in infrastructure has not been provided.

In recognition of the importance of broadband throughout the UK, the Government has committed to providing superfast broadband to 90% of all UK premises whilst improving connectivity to all others, ensuring a standard broadband service of at least 2Mphs.

Locally, Jim has received assurances from both East Cambridgeshire District and South Cambridgeshire District Council that they are committed to achieving these targets and are playing an active part of the Cambridgeshire Broadband together Partnership.

However, vital investment is needed by private broadband companies to ensure the best possible service is achieved.

Your help is needed to show that the families, students, professionals and businesses of South East Cambridgeshire want superfast broadband. Registering your support will show suppliers that there is a real demand for broadband services in our constituency and encourage much needed investment to create the best possible service for our community.

It only takes a few minutes to register by clicking the following link to the Connecting Cambridgeshire website: www.connectingcambridgeshire.co.uk

Visitors can also check their broadband speeds, find out about the benefits of broadband for businesses and communities and volunteer to become Digital Champions for their local areas.

Jim says, ‘I am delighted that the Government has recognised improving broadband services to rural areas as a priority. I have been campaigning for better broadband provision in rural areas for many years as I know all the advantages that broadband offers, both for individuals and businesses. I would like to urge all my constituents to register their interest to show private investors there is a real demand for these services locally.’
